If the on-line world is an accurate indicator of an icon's ranking in our cultural world we can see that Springsteen ranks behind Britney Spears' eleven million google hits, but well in front of Doctor Hardy's forty-four hundred. To ensure that we don't take ourselves too seriously we should refer to a recent book release concerning the cultural importance of Elvis Presley. The previously mentioned Springsteen poll revealed that only one fan felt that Bruce is the promised Messiah. History will be the judge of his ability to throw off the stigmata of pop-culture icon and enter the sacred realm of godly status. His music? Let's talk about his music.
